How To Choose Safe Toys For ChildrenBecause of the wide range of toys that are being sold in the market today, most parents have a hard time choosing which ones are best for their children, in terms of safety. Although there are many toys which are safe and durable enough to be used by children of all ages, there are also some which may have been poorly designed or have been manufactured without giving much priority to safety. As a matter of fact, there has been a study conducted that a significant number of pediatric emergency cases were because of toy-related injuries and accidents. Fortunately, there are some pointers that you could use as you look for toys to get for your little ones. Here they are. 1. First off, toys usually have labels which provide information on what the recommended age range of the child is who would be playing with them. Those labels are placed on the packaging so that parents would have an easier time knowing whether a particular toy would be suitable for their child or children. 2. Make sure that you would be following any other special instructions given by the manufacturer such as discarding the plastic packaging of the toy before giving it to your child. If you bought an electronic toy, make sure that you would be the one who would be changing and disposing the batteries. Also check if the battery compartment has been secured properly to prevent your child from opening it and fiddling with the batteries, which could be dangerous. 3. Check the toy if it has points or sharp edges that could cause injury. 4. If you are buying for a child who is three years old or younger, make sure that he toy you would be choosing does not have small parts or detachable small parts which could pose hazard. 5. When buying dolls and stuffed toys, make sure that they do not have any necklaces, cords or strings which could be accidentally wrapped around your child’s neck, causing him or her to choke. 6. As a rule of thumb, any toy or toy part which could fit through the tube of a toilet paper is considered to be a choking hazard. 7. Remember that toys which have darts and slingshots should only be bought for older children. Keep in mind that when buying peppa pig toys, you should not only look for those that would provide fun and entertainment for your children. You should also check whether it is educational as well as safe.
